On the longitudal lead screw backlash the best I can do is .015". At this setting it does not get tight on the ends. I see in the videos the guy can adjust down to .006 on a used machine.

The diameter of the cutting bit is so small that it takes a very high RPM to get a proper SFM. I did do some simple engraving on some brass with a 3K RPM spindle.
